When do I need to RSVP?
Please RSVP by September 15th . This will allow for adequate planning in the case of inclement weather—this special day will be spent outdoors in our backyard—more like our side yard. And Anna’s family is preparing much of the traditional Filipino dishes, requiring an accurate count.
Who do I contact for any questions or concerns?
Text 757-952-6464 —
This is the official number for the Wedding Team Coordinators! It is made up of a few family and friends helping us to coordinate this wedding.
Where do I stay?
Currently, if you click on the Travel section of this website you’ll see our top picks for hotels close to us. The first one you’ll see is where we were able to get a block of rooms at a discounted rate (discount reservations end September 12th)—the Residence Inn Norfolk Downtown. You may use the following link to access that discounted rate as long as rooms within that block are available by September 12th: https://www.marriott.com/event-reservations/reservation-link.mi?id=1754923315732&key=GRP&app=resvlink
The hotel did mention that it is best to use this specific link as if you were to call and give the front desk pure names there is a greater chance of it taking a lot longer.
Where do I park?
Ideally, any guests who live in our neighborhood of Ghent might find it best to walk to our home. Those who plan on being dropped off, you may pull into just the first half of our driveway before the sidewalk. For further clarification, you might find the following link helpful—it has an image of our neighborhood and various highlights of where to park, where to enter the wedding, where drop off can happen:

What if I need to go into the house? Is there a bathroom?
Yes! Bathrooms are located in our home. It can get confusing navigating around our home, so look for the signs we’ll put around the house that can point you in the right direction. In particular, we want the powder room on the first floor reserved for guests with mobility issues—entering the door with the arch of flowers will take you to the least amount of steps and a good railing. There are more bathrooms on our second floor for those who can safely make it there—again, just follow the signs.
Finally, we know we can count on our guests to refrain from entering rooms that are marked private—we appreciate you!
Do I bring food or drinks?
No, you don’t need to bring food or drinks. Anna’s family is preparing much of the traditional Filipino dishes, and there will be some catering from various favorite local businesses. Food will be served buffet style. Those who have noted allergies or food preferences in the RSVP will likely receive a call or text from the Wedding Coordinator Team—Anna and Bobby really want to make sure everyone can celebrate this day with a meal you can enjoy. Even with us leaning toward a slightly casual, semi-casual day, we do not plan on anyone bringing food or drink.
We’ll have various soft drinks, coffee and tea, beers and wine. All self serve.
Are my pets permitted to come to this wedding?
Unfortunately, for everyone’s safety we are limiting the pets in attendance to dogs of immediate family—that’s our Cloud, then Suki, and Sunrise. Cloud’s favorite people outside of family will attend as guests/Cloud-wranglers as he can get abundantly energetic when there are lots of people around.
We ask that the amount of human foods you sneak to the three dogs be kept to zero. (Looking at you, Lola! Pancit isn’t ‘nothing’)
What happens if there is inclement weather?
We plan on having tents to help alleviate concerns about the weather. Any updates that happen before guests arrive to our home will go out via text from 757-952-6464.
Are you on any sort of gift registry?
Thank you for that question. Your presence and support really are the best gift, but for those who have inquired we are using MyRegistry.com under our names (Anna Sosa and Bobby Mercer). You can also click on the Registry tab toward the top of this webpage to get to the same MyRegistry.com profile.
What’s the attire?
Smart Casual is the short answer—and yes, we had to look that up. While we do have a general color theme, we are not asking anyone to try to match anything. We just want you to feel comfortable being outside where there’s grassy areas, a large concrete path, several paver paths, mulch walkways, cobblestone-like areas, etc.
I can’t make it to the wedding anymore! What do I do?
You can update your response on our website here. OR if need be text 757-952-6464
